Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar was found dead in her apartment located in the upscale Defence Housing Authority (DHA) enclave of Karachi.
Her decomposed body was found several days after she was reported to have died, and widespread concern and interest were evoked in the country.
According to DIG South Zone Syed Asad Raza, the late actress’s body was found in a flat situated in Ittehad Commercial, Phase VI of DHA. The discovery was made when Gizri Police arrived at the premises on a court order to vacate the rented apartment. When officers knocked on the door around 3:15 PM and received no response, they broke the lock to enter—and were met with a tragic scene.

The Pakistani actress and model, who was living alone in the apartment, appeared to have died several days earlier. Crime scene investigators were immediately called in to collect evidence from the location. Her body was then shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for further examination and legal procedures.
Dr. Summaiya Syed, the police surgeon at JPMC, confirmed that the body was in a severely decomposed state, suggesting she had been dead for nearly two weeks. Initial reports say no signs of violence or forced entry were observed, but the exact cause of death is yet to be determined. Police say the investigation remains ongoing.

Humaira Asghar, 32, was recognized for her roles in popular Pakistani dramas such as Ehsaan Faramosh and Guru. She was also quite active on social media, often sharing glimpses of her personal life and career with her followers.
Gizri Police further confirmed the deceased’s identity and noted that the body had likely been there for approximately 15 days before being found. Legal proceedings are underway, and the authorities are waiting for the post-mortem report to establish how and when she died.
