Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir on Friday issued a stern warning to India, condemning what he described as “unlawful and unacceptable hydro-terrorism,” and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unshakable commitment to national defence and regional stability.
Addressing student officers and faculty at the Command and Staff College in Quetta, the army chief declared that Pakistan will never be coerced by hostile forces. He stated that all attempts to derail the country’s efforts in the war against terrorism would be “comprehensively defeated.”
“Pakistan’s leadership and its people stand united like a steel wall for the defence of our motherland,” said Gen Munir, reinforcing the armed forces’ readiness to counter any form of aggression. He also made glowing tributes to Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos martyrs, supporting their families and paying homage to their sacrifices for the nation.

Highlighting the shifting dynamics of global and regional conflicts, the COAS particularly called out India’s rising military belligerence and provocative actions. He stressed the importance of resolving the longstanding Kashmir dispute peacefully and warned that India’s tactics, including its water-related hostilities, threaten strategic stability in South Asia.
Gen Munir termed Indian “hydro-terrorism” not only a moral and legal transgression but an attack on Pakistan’s sovereignty. “We will decisively thwart all designs aimed at diverting attention from our national counter-terrorism efforts,” he warned.
