Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Saturday hosted a dinner at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to honor the armed forces, political leadership, and the steadfast spirit of the Pakistani people during Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
The showpiece event did unite the apex civilian and military leadership of Pakistan in a rare exhibition of togetherness. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chairman of the Senate, Speaker of the National Assembly, federal ministers, governors, chief ministers, and senior political stalwarts attended the event.

Senior officials of the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force also attended, along with important government officials and foreign envoys.

A celebration of national unity
COAS Field Marshal Asim Munir welcomed the gathering and commended the strategic political leadership for its wisdom and vision at a critical juncture in the history of Pakistan. He appreciated the effortless collaboration between all wings of the armed forces, which was instrumental in the achievement of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
“It was this defining moment that highlighted our strength of unity and depth of national resolve,” he stated, praising the mettle of the armed forces and the resolve of the Pakistani people.

Youth and media: the steel wall
The Pakistani youth and media were specifically mentioned by the army chief, who called them a “steel wall” against India’s disinformation campaign. They played a crucial role in preserving both international support and national morale by actively combating propaganda.

He also acknowledged the crucial contributions of Pakistani scientists, engineers, and diplomats whose expertise and commitment helped navigate the country through a highly sensitive and challenging time.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “The evening stood as a powerful affirmation of national unity and the collective resolve to advance with renewed strength and cohesion.”
