Bollywood actress and model Shefali Jariwala passed away at the age of 42. Best known as the iconic “Kaanta Laga Girl,” Shefali reportedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest late Friday night in Mumbai.
According to The Times of India, Shefali collapsed at her residence and was immediately rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, along with close friends. Sadly, doctors at the hospital declared her dead on arrival.
A member of the hospital staff confirmed the news: “Shefali had expired before she was brought in. Her husband and others accompanied her body.”

Entertainment journalist Vickey Lalwani shared details on his Instagram, revealing Shefali arrived at the hospital around 11:25 PM on June 27. Medical officials, including cardiologist Dr. Vijay Lulla, have declined to disclose further details citing patient confidentiality. However, Dr. Sushant from Bellevue confirmed that her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
While Shefali Jariwala passed away, reports point to cardiac arrest as the likely cause, an official confirmation is still pending. Her family has yet to issue a formal statement.
Shefali rose to fame in 2002 with the popular music video Kaanta Laga, a remix that became a cultural phenomenon and gave her instant stardom.

Following her music video fame, Shefali appeared in the Salman Khan-starrer Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and later ventured into reality television. Her performances on Nach Baliye and Bigg Boss 13 revealed a gentler, calmer side of her, which earned the appreciation of the nation.
