In what’s turning out to be a big year for Apple’s premium smartphone, the technology giant is going to unveil its eagerly awaited iPhone 17 series release during the second week of September—likely on September 11 or 13.
With rumors of radical design changes and robust hardware upgrades, this new generation lineup is already making waves among Apple fans.
As per a reliable tipster on Chinese social media site Weibo, Digital Chat Station—who has an excellent record for correct Apple leaks—the iPhone 17 series launch will introduce a significantly bigger screen. While the iPhone 16 has a 6.1-inch screen and the iPhone 16 Pro has a 6.3-inch screen, it’s anticipated that the iPhone 17 will match the Pro model size, giving users an even bigger, more immersive experience.

But that’s not all that’s being upgraded. Apple is also rumored to be boosting its front-facing camera. The iPhone 17 will reportedly have a 24-megapixel front camera, twice the resolution of the 12-megapixel one on the iPhone 16. This upgrade promises crisper selfies and higher-quality video calls, a nice boon for content creators and regular users alike.
The other unexpected transformation could be in camera positioning. Prominent Apple leaker Majin Bu states the iPhone 17 Air would feature a different configuration for the front-facing camera and Face ID sensor. Although the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max will likely keep their camera contained in the Dynamic Island at the right side, the iPhone 17 Air could relocate its camera arrangement towards the left side.
