Doctors believe that one of the main imbalances in her blood’s electrolytes could have caused the heart attack. Doctors speculate that this has been brought about by ongoing use of anti-aging skin cosmetic drugs and beauty injections — all taken without medical intervention.
Police found multiple boxes of anti-aging drugs at Shefali’s residence. On the day of her death, she had eaten dinner and later taken her regular dose of anti-aging medicine. Doctors believe that self-medication with cosmetic drugs might have triggered the cardiac event.

The incident has sparked a conversation within the industry. A few celebrities have come out to speak against the increasing culture of using artificial measures for beauty. Mallika Sherawat, an actress, was one of them. She took to social media with a powerful and emotional message.
In a raw, no-makeup video, she called out to fans to love their natural selves and not feel pressured to use Botox, fillers, and other artificial means to look younger.
“Avoid these trends. Do not go for Botox or fake fillers,” Mallika urged. “Stay healthy and take pride in your natural self.”
