Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Friday at Mina Palace, marking a major step forward in reinforcing the historic friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the two leaders exchanged Eid-ul-Adha greetings and held in-depth discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. They discussed ways to enhance collaboration across various sectors, including economic, security, and regional affairs.

Senior officials from both nations attended the high-level meeting. On the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Prince Saud bin Mishal, the deputy governor of Makkah; Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud, the interior minister; Prince Khalid bin Salman, the defense minister; and Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the foreign minister. Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, Information Minister Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir were also in attendance.
Representing Pakistan were Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom, Ahmed Farooq, and senior military officials, including Major General Muhammad Jawad Tariq and Military Secretary Tipu Sultan.

Ahead of the meeting, the Pakistani Foreign Office had issued a statement highlighting that talks would focus on bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, regional peace, and the constructive role of Saudi leadership in easing recent tensions between Pakistan and India.
The statement characterized the visit as a testament to the time-honored, strategic, and abiding relationship between the two countries, founded on common faith, mutual respect, and strategic interests. It also highlighted the shared commitment to strengthening economic and diplomatic engagement in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s development objectives.
