In a powerful address at a tribal jirga in Quetta, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, directly accused India of fueling terrorism in Balochistan, calling it an “open act of aggression” rather than a hidden proxy war.
The army chief firmly stated that terrorist networks in Balochistan are being backed by Indian elements, and stressed that Pakistan is fully prepared to crush any threat—internal or external. “The enemy’s conspiracies will be defeated,” he assured, reiterating that peace in Balochistan is non-negotiable.

“Pakistan’s future is deeply linked with Balochistan,” he said, highlighting the province’s strategic and economic importance.
At the end of the jirga, tribal elders voiced strong solidarity with the government and Pakistan Armed Forces, pledging full support in the fight against terrorism and in promoting national harmony.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who was also in attendance, seconded similar sentiments. He accepted the pleas of the Baloch people and emphasized that their grievances could be addressed by dialogue—never violence. But he made it clear: “There is zero tolerance for terrorists.”

The prime minister announced that 25 percent of total funding will be reserved for Balochistan in the next federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), a huge step towards development and inclusion. “Peace and prosperity cannot exist together with lawlessness,” he said, underscoring the government’s commitment to restoring order.
PM Shehbaz also praised the people of Balochistan for standing resilient during India’s recent attacks on May 6, 7, and 10. “Our brave forces responded with such courage and determination that the enemy will never forget it,” he declared.
