In a bold and unexpected statement, former U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that peace between Iran and Israel is on the horizon — despite a deadly spike in violence between the two longtime adversaries.
Posting on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Sunday (June 15), Trump said, “Iran and Israel should make a deal, and will make a deal. We will have peace, soon.” His remarks followed fresh overnight attacks that left dozens dead, further escalating fears of a full-blown regional war.
The former president did not offer concrete details or evidence to support his peace claim but hinted at “many meetings happening” behind the scenes. His comments come in sharp contrast to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent vow to intensify military actions against Iran, signaling no immediate signs of diplomatic softening from either side.

In a separate interview with ABC News, Trump revealed that the U.S. “could get involved” in the conflict, although he emphasized that the country is “not at this moment” participating in any military operations. He also floated the possibility of Russian President Vladimir Putin stepping in as a mediator, claiming, “He called me about it. We had a long talk.”
While the Iran and Israel conflict continues to dominate global headlines, the White House has yet to comment on Trump’s peace prediction or his alleged conversations with Putin.
Trump, who has long positioned himself as a global peacemaker, also pointed to his role in past diplomatic efforts, including tensions between India and Pakistan. “I do a lot and never get credit for anything, but that’s ok, the people understand,” he wrote, signing off with his signature slogan: “Make the Middle East great again!”
